Prediction (New)
The Prediction Market is a new feature on Rome Finance that allows users to speculate on the short-term price direction of $S, a core asset within the SonicLabs ecosystem. Users can place predictions on whether the price of $S will go up or down relative to a snapshot price taken at a specific time.
This feature introduces an exciting, gamified layer to the Rome ecosystem—offering both entertainment and yield-generating opportunities for participants who can accurately anticipate market movements.
How It Works
Snapshot Price At regular intervals, a snapshot of the current $S price is taken. This price becomes the reference point for the prediction round.
Pick Your Direction Users can have to lock $ROME until next snapshot to bet on the direction of $S:
Bullish: You predict the price of $S will go up from the snapshot price.
Bearish: You predict the price of $S will go down from the snapshot price.
Lock Your Prediction Each round has a prediction window where users can place their bets for 2 $S. Once the window closes, predictions are locked in until the round ends.
Round Settlement At the end of the round, the final price of $S is compared to the snapshot:
If your prediction was correct, you receive a share of the prize pool.
If you were wrong, your stake contributes to the winnings of the correct side.
Rewards and Distribution
The prize pool consists of 90% of fees amount generated by all participants in that round.
Fees is 2 $S per vote
10% is taken by the Treasury to support protocol sustainability and fund other ecosystem features such as $bROME yield..
Winning rewards are distributed proportionally to the size of $ROME, $bROME and LP Creators of each correct bet.
Prediction winners also earn Sestertius
🏅 Sestertius (Rome Points)
In addition to financial rewards, all participants earn Rome Points — a non-transferable scoring system that reflects user engagement and activity within Rome’s gamified layers.
Sestertius are distributed at the end of each round based on participation and performance.
They may be used in the future for leaderboards, special roles, exclusive features, or seasonal rewards.
